Engine Flutters under Hard Acceleration
#21
Yeah, we don't really want you to blow-fish the engine. I know you've sunken a treasure chest full of money and time into that car.
And, causing anaconda engine damage would probably make you eel.

Changed plug wires, reset computer. After driving today on highway it has a spot at about half throttle where it starts missing, a dead miss. You can hear the engine, it sounds like a jake brake. Ha HA. It has a Catback dual outlet muffler on it, a Flowmaster I think. If you let off of half throttle just a tad it smooths out perfectly. Press back down a tad, it starts missing again. Showed #5 misfire only 1 time while driving.

could be a maf problem. pick up some cleaner and see if it helps. test the throttle position sensor and see if its jumping a little. other than that i would change the #5 coil.

Well guys, It's Fixed and all of you were right. Bad 2&5 coil pack. Put new one in today and she purrrrrrs like a kitten. I guess it was breaking down under load. I want to thank all of you very much for your help. I'm pretty good on the old stuff, but this computerized stuff throws me sometimes. That's what happens when you get old. HaHa. My old 72 SWB Chevy PU is a cinch next to these new vehicles. Now my son can sleep at night. Me, i'm still looking for a 67 RS to spend some time and money on.
