Default which engine do i have?

i have a 94 z28 with a 350 5.7L, how do i find out if its the LT1 or the basic 350 SB

They only came with the lt1.

93-97 = LT1 98-02 = LS1. An LS1 swap to a 93-97 is possible, But its not an easy swap at all and ive only seen a few people do it. If I can remember there was a user here who bought one with a swap but it was a pretty shotty job. I cant remember who he was because I havent been on in awhile. But its highly likely that you have an LT1

Would a XFI™ Xtreme Fuel Injection, 280XFI HR13 be the correct kind of cam to install?

Depends on what you are trying to do. What ever cam or kit you go with get one for a LT1 engine. Remember that whenever you mess with the engine's systems you will need to have the computer tuned so it can meter fuel properly and also make the timing adjustments needed to run at peak performance.
