Not a drop. But if it was a pilot bushing, would it leak fluid?

Most likely. Probably just a bearing.

It's not your pilot bushing since you get the noise both disengaged and engaged. Is this trans the original one, with 200+k miles on it? If so, I think you got a good life out of it. The more you talk, the more it sounds like a bearing, the input possibly. You asked before about a possible bent input shaft. How could you have bent it?

It's a newer tranny. I replaced it a few months ago when I lost 2nd gear and reverse in my old one. I'm not sure how I could have bent the input shaft but I was just throwing out possibilities. Where is the "input" bearing? Which bearing is which? The diagram above confused me... lol

Post #28 shows the right exploded view, mongo sized as it is (hint, hint)! It's circled in red.
The input shaft is what the clutch disc is hanging on. The bearing is where the shaft goes into the case. When you swapped the trans, you didn't let it "hang" free by the shaft did you? That's the only way I can think how you could have tweaked it, if it even is. Don't forget, all these diagnosis you're getting is based off of things we can't hear, see or feel. I wouldn't go ripping the trans out until you can get a trained ear to hear what you hear.

Yea I still have a similar driveline vibration on my SS, so I'm also curious to learn what this issue is. Of course, I have an automatic, and a reman tranny has been swapped in...

But, here's the manual diagram.

(15) Input Shaft Bearing Shim
(16) Input Shaft Bearing Race
(17) Input Shaft Bearing
