from CT 95 camaro
when mine went awol i had to hold the key in a certain position to keep it running to get home. up to that point i had to work the key sometimes to make it work. setting the position was the hardest part for me.
forgot about the ignition switch change on shbox, pretty good, easy to miss on my link
4th Gen F-body Ignition Switch Replacement
4th Gen F-body Ignition Switch Replacement
test the wire going from ignition switch to the solenoid on the starter. coming out of the ignition switch it would be the yellow wire. it should only have power to it when the key is turned to start. shbox is good, heres a wire diagram http://shbox.com/1/starter_charging_95.jpg

make sure the shaft is moving the switch to the start position. check for power to the yellow wire when the key is in the start position. make sure the neutral/park switch is working properly.
how do i make sure the shaft is moving the swith to the start positon? and how do i check for power to the yellow wire?
easiest first check would be the yellow wire coming out of the ignition switch for power. get your volt meter out and check for voltage at the wire/connector for yellow wire from the switch with the key held in the start position.. if you have voltage (should be in the area of 12 volts dc) then switch is working correctly. if no voltage test hot wire going into the ignition switch. same for neutral/park switch, test for power going in and coming out. look at the wiring diagram for wire colors and where wires go to.
the wires all tested fine im stuck, it seems like when i replaced the ignition switch things got even worst, my battery died so i charged it fully over night and now it wont start at all. i can hear it like clicking trying to start but still no crank. could it be my battery? i do see some liquid under my battery i dont know if it is my battery acid from my battery or something. do you think it might be my ignition cylinder?

unhook battery cables, clean the battery terminals and battery cable ends, wire brush the heck outa them. there is a power distribution box (small red plastic box)on the passenger side fender well by the battery, take the wires off check for damage and wire brush them as well. you will see a ground junction next to the power junction box. take them lose and clean them too. if you have a helper get under the car and test the start wire at the starter. have them hold the key in the start position while you have a volt meter on the small wire to the starter. if you have 12 volts there and at the big wire you have a starter problem. last resort at the starter try and short the small wire connector to the big wire connector/stud and see if starter will engage. i have used a screwdriver to do this. be careful some sparks may fly. do not ground either of the wires.
