Im 16 and will look into the insurance because thatll play a big part in my dad's decision to let me get it. I am ticketless and accident free so I guess thats a plus. I will for sure do my research on this. Btw why is the winter the best time to buy a rwd car?

Because driving up hill in the snow/ice is damn near impossible. So nobody will want to buy one, and you'll get it cheaper.

I would hope you have no accidents or tickets if you are only 16. Seriously that won't make much difference. If the car is insured through your parents, their driving records are what count. If you are not primary driver(assuming your parents don't both have their own car) you will also save a whole lot.

Spartan, aren't you in high school? How could you possibly have full coverage on your car and pay less on your own policy than you did on your parents with a less powerful car? I am not saying that 145 is all that cheap but for your own policy it seems real cheap since you haven't hit that 25 year old safety zone that insurance companies use.

i have 2 cousins on my dad's side, that are closest to me, one, who is now 18, has been in 2 accidents, both her fault, going around corner and rolled, both happened when she was 16, then my other cuz, her brother is now 23, who has been in 5 accidents, 4 of which when he was 16, 3 werent his fault, 1 was. one time he got T-boned by a old lady who ran redlight(in his camaro), 2nd time he got rear ended by a car that's brakes failed(in his camaro) 3rd was in his dad's truck, and a drunk driver came in his lane and went under his truck, nothing happened to truck, like at all, and the car was smashed to hell and driver died. the time that was his fault, he was in his mom's FS yukon, and he spun out in rain and his rear end slid into someone, a very minor accident. this cuz also lost his left eye when he was 17, working on a 3wheeler, a screw driver slipped and went into his eye.

oh.. and when i had my camaro(3.8) my insurance was dirt cheap, new driver, sports car, and was only 8xx for 6months, with monthly payments, low 700s with all at once. my ION has FULL coverage, theft, water, windows, everything, even my rims are on it, and im paying 1100-1200 every 6months. and i also got a quote on a 99LS1 when i was looking at them, was gonna be like a extra 5bucks a month than my 3.8 was. im 17 atm. when i was 16(1 month) my ION was 2800 for 6months, but both the LS1 and 3.8 were when i was 16.... my ION is a hell of alot more even with just liability cuz it's a more popular car for kids, most kids dont own camaros/mustangs, so they are fairly cheap.
