Clutch slave cylinder and bleeding on 95
Hi,
I'm a newbie to the forum and I need some help with my 95 3.4L 5spd. As I was coming home the other day, my clutch suddenly had no pressure and I could not shift. As I checked into it I found the slave cylinder was leaking (fluid squirted when the clutch pedal was pressed) so I got a new one and replaced it. Now that the new one is in there I still have no pressure on the pedal. I tried following some of the suggestions I found on how to bleed the system, but so far nothing has helped. The last thing I tried was to disconnect the hose to the slave and have my wife press on the clutch pedal. Some fluid came out, but then nothing yet the level in the reservoir stayed the same. Could my master cylinder also be bad? Am I not doing some properly in my attempts to bleed the system?

There is a certain way to bleed the clutch system on the 3.4. I had to do it to mine. Unbolt your slave cylinder from your transmission, feed it up through so that you can reach it from under the hood, remove your master cylinder reservoir cap and the rubber cup under the cap, and pump your slave cylinder. While pumping the slave cylinder, watch for bubbles in your fluid reservoir. Keep pumping the slave cylinder until there are no more bubbles appearing in the reservoir. Top off the fluid, put the cap back on your reservoir, and bolt the slave cylinder back up to the transmission.

I got it! Well, a friend and I got it. I unbolted the slave and held it at about a 45 degree angle with the piston towards the floor. Then I pumped it in and out while my friend watched for bubbles. We kept this up until he saw no more bubbles which took what seemed like 12-15 pumps. All I know is that my hand was sore. Anyway, once there were no more bubbles, I put the slave back in place and everything worked.
