Default Clutch not disengaging fully.

Ok so I took my tranny and clutch/flywheel off today and had the flywheel turned for good measure. They took 10 thousands off. Also I replaced the slave cylinder today for the clutch. Now I have it all back together and it won't disengage fully. Like it disengages but it grinds when shifting into 1st and its hard to get in all the gears. But I can come to a stop in gear without it dying. It does bog down tho. Also my throw out bearing is houling pretty loud when the clutch isn't pressed in.

Did I need to shim my flywheel??? Maybe my slave cylinder isn't bled properly? Any ideas??

I agree with Craby on the disengaging but the bearing noise is a problem. There is no reason that a system that needs bled would cause bearing noise of any kind. It should sound just like not pushing the clutch in far enough. If it is a new bearing then it is a defective one or it was not installed right. I have not done a 3.4 but if you do not have the bearing in there square/flat, under the clips, however it is suppose to go it will not let the hydraulic system adjust right and cause the noise. You are going to need to get this figured out because if the bearing is not sitting flat and pushing more one side then the other the pressure plate is not going to like it at all. Not to mention what you are doing to your sinks.

Pushing the clutch a bunch of times with motor off may “pop” the release bearing square. It should not hurt the clutch with no heat present.

If you reused your release bearing you just figured out the hard way why mechanics NEVER reused release bearings. One bump during removel or anything that stirs up dirt inside the bearing and the job is a redo.

Good luck

Crushed the pilot bushing with I installed the tranny because the clutch wasn't aligned right. Replaced the pilot bushing and throw out bearing and it was good as new.
