Default clutch going bad?

hey the search thing isnt working atm? go figure

so i guess ill just ask this if it hasnt been asked yet, how you do you know if your clutch is going bad (besides the text book, engine revving by itself, slipping, etc)

like all ofa sudden its really easy to push the clutch in, like before i could telli was pushin it, now it feels like air going all the way down.. like really light and easy to push... going into gears isnt hard or anything, its pretty easy...

i checked my clutch fluid level and its to the top... theres like crap on the bottom of it though...

so how would i bleed the lines, or

if need be how (or can i get a link to a write up) do i change out the clutch/flywheel?

thanks guys..

My current z28 is not manual, but i have had plenty of standards in my time. What you are describing is a bad slave cylinder. Sombody else correct me if I am wrong. A rebuild kit for the cylinder shouldn't be very much money. I will post again if I get more info.

I would say your slave is leaking onto an exhaust pipe. That would explain the smell. That also would explain the crap in the resevoir. I think clutch fluid is like brake fluid, it will soke up moisture if there is leak in the system, and cause the piston in the slave cylinder to corrode.
