Check Engine light

have it scanned for trouble codes. let us know what comes up. the reason the light goes off is that when u unhook the battery u clear the codes and the computer starts from a clear slate and begins to collect info. if it get bad info the light comes on and it will remember what it finds. if the problem happens over and over the computer will store a trouble code. it will do this for many codes if u have more problems. keep in mind that one problem can cause other systems to fail and store a code.

OBD2
if you have the $$$, get a cheap OBD2 reader at your local parts stores. I've seen them as low as $69. You could get a more high end unit that reads data as well but you should at least get a reader.
Heck, try Ebay or Amazon too

Yes i am in Ghana, West Africa and there are but a few camaros here. I have not actually met anyone using a camaro but have met two firebirds and seen a camaro at the port.
I will need all the help and assistance available in order for me to enjoy the use of my car.
I got the reading with an obdII reader and the code I got was P1441.
The guy used the obdII reader to erase the error but I am not sure if this will permenantly solve the problem.
Does anyone think this is a permanent fix for the error or do I need to do something else?
For being cautious in giving out email addresses, I appreciate your honesty and cauiousness but I would like to say that there are more honest, just and good people here than the few miscriants one might have experienced before.
I am the webmaster at the Office of the President and would not do anything to bring the name of my country to disrepute and public ridicule.
I have been getting parts from rockauto.com for the car using bongo as a forwarding agency but if anyone know a place where they will ship the parts directly to me, I am open for all recommendations
Thanks again
