Car keeps grounding out WONT START
Ok my camaro is stuck on the side of the road bcus its having cranking problems.. I believe my starter is bad bcus whenever i drive my car around for a while and cut it off it has a hard time starting back up once the engine gets warm.. But now Its stuck and when I try to crank it all my lights on my dash go dim and the car wont even attempt to turn... I put jumpers on them and the car tried to turn a smal bit but still nothing.. Is there anyway to temporarily get my started to get it back home.. I think the problem is that its grounding out... quick replies please!!

If anything was grounding out there would be smoke or at least blown fuses. Most likely the battery is dead from too much cranking, and when you try jump starting, the donor battery does not have enough power to both recharge your battery and start the engine at the same time. After connecting the jumper cables, let the donor car run for about 10-20 minutes, to give it time to charge up your battery, then try to start your car.

sounds to me like you need a new alternator and or battery because if the car wont start after you shut it down it down it means that your alternator isn't charging the battery like it is suppose. This can be tested by having your car running and while it is idling remove the positive wire off the battery if the car shuts off its the alternator

dont disconnect the battery when the motor is running. you can ruin the alternator. if you have manual trans you can push start it. clean the battery terminals and battery cable ends. wire brush em good. if no effect have the battery tested and the starter tested.

Well I towed the car back to my house and now when I turn the key the dash lights power on but the car wont crank at all... Wont make any noise whatsoever... I was told its my starter and Im debating to go to pick n pull to go get a new one... The cars lights are bright and the dash lights are bright as well so im thinking its not the battery (being that its new anyways) and i also let the battery charge on a charger for about 30min b4 i tried to crank still nothing... Pete help me out hahah you seem to know a lot from reading your past posts and replies to others

take the starter out and have it tested at the local parts store. while your down there messin with the starter before doing anything test the small wire to the starter for juice when the key is held to the start position. if you do this while the starter is out you will need to make sure the wires dont ground. tape the heck outa that big one or something before hooking the battery up. i use heater hose and tape it on. if no power to the small starter wire when the key is turned to the start position then you have another issue like vats or failing switch. starter from a wrecking yard may or may not work or last.
