dumbest idea ever - fuel with the engine on

 

uh... we do it all the time at work... Weve had a car with a dead battery that needs gas asap the little screen says 0 miles to e and we have to drive it to the gas station 1/4 mile away but leave it running so the battery will charge. It was a new car and sold so i had to put a full tank of gas in it while it was running. Ive done this several times and im still alive..

 

This was solved last week. It was the tank vent solonoid. THe spring inside it failed and caused the vent to stay closed all the time.

Dude! Ive had the same problem since I bought my car! If you would be so kind, where is that valve? On top of the gas tank Im guessing huh, you wouldnt happen to have a part number too would you.

 

A buddy is mine owns this website and did the work on my car. I dont have a part number, but its a dealer item and they can find it for you. THe part was around $30 bucks. You do have to drop the tank and thats the worst part.

Yes and just to clarify that issue it doesn't hurt to leave your car running and pump gas I live in northern Michigan and 90% of our population leaves they're ride running while filling

 

That should not be an issue.
