Camaro Coolant Leak????
so how would I stop from my coolant from smoking out of my rad cap? Or am I just over reacting.
Ok thanks, I wanted to take it to school tomorrow but I don't think it'll take that much heat (30mile drive)
you still got air in it. as it warms it forces the air out pushing coolant with it. gotta keep filling it and warming it up and filling and so on. if it is a lt1 radiator then it could be set up wrong for the reverse flow radiator.
. I'll massage the coolant pipes again and hopefully it'll clear up. Was that why the coolant was smoking up and spewing out coolant off my cap??
that would be my take on it from what you have said. as the air works it way out it make a hot spot and creates steam, once it gets to the radiator it boils over. i would look for the right radiator for it. not to bad price for the stock style plastic ones.
As for the radiator I'm thinking about keeping it for now because I'm low on cash

So I gotta massage the coolant pipes while the car is warming up everytime right? How would I know if the car is ready?
Also what would happen if I drove it for 60 miles during the current condition?
I also replaced again the rubber vacuum cap because the cap was a little too big that it started spill out coolant as shown in the video.
gotta get that clamp on fairly tight, not so much as to strip the clamp. i would take a drive around the block and see what it does, heat it operating temp and let cool off all the way then open radiator cap and make sure it still filled to the rim. also whats in the overflow tank, hows the hose/pipe going to it, its a sealed/pressureized sytem so dont want any leaks or it will suck in air when it cools.
