Default battery wire to nowhere

This may be related to my previous thread
'Advice on Pioneer issue '
In the Audio/Visual board in Jun '22
Please see the updated info I posted in Nov '22. I have not rewired the new harnesses.
But then again, it may not, so I posted here, in General.
I noticed today a black wire attached to the positive battery terminal that goes nowhere, it's just-a-dangling. It has a butt connector clamped to it, but you can see that the other end was never crimped to another wire. I can't imaging that's supposed to be like that. I do have an aftermarket amp, but it doesn't appear to be connected to that added ring terminal.
However, as per my previous thread, the audio installation techs cutoff the ground wire to my factory harness, thereby melting various parts and shorting out my stereo, I have no idea if this is related and I would prefer not to go through all the trouble of rewiring harnesses only to short out another stereo because this wire should be attached to something it's not.
Please advise if you have any ideas, or solutions.

I wasn't able find anything in my Haynes manual.
Thanks for any assistance.

that looks like a battery ground wire someone used to replace the positive wire. the wire to no where is just that, it goes to nothing, most battery ground wires have a small extra wire to ground the body of the car.

So, should I attach a wire to it and ground it to the chassis?
Thanks for the help

Yeah, pay attention to the polarity of the battery post the cable is connected to. Grounding that wire would be a direct short.
