Default auto to manual windows

ok im starting to get sick of all the electrical problems with theese ccamaros. this is the second time both of the power windows went out and getting them fixed can get very expensive. like $250 expensive . usually i do everything myself but the motors are rivited in and from the inside of the door.
so i want to just convert to manual windows. ive looked around and figured out the holes are all in the same spot to fit both the the power and the manual regulators.

my question is what exactly do i have to do to get the rivits out of the window motor? also do i need to buy the whole new regulator or can i just take the motor off of the one i have now and attach something where i can hook up a lever?

thanks alot guys for any help

do it right yourself the first time. get yourself a quality motor and do the voltage mod for it. the rivets don't matter as you drill them out and use screws with your new motor. i did it on my trans am and its been great.

Seriously, do it yourself, it's easy. Drill the rivets out once and you're done.

yeah i never planned on paying that much to have it dont ive been driving around with out being able to use my windows for about 2 years. a car accident took out my AC condencer so all i have are my T tops. i really rather just stay away from power windows all together but might consiter it. also the driver side window button broke off and all thats left is a jagged piece of plastic i would need to use something to pry it with to open the window if i did have power windows. i have no clue how i would replace that piece since the power wires go directly into it.

im not too sure what the voltage mod is either

Bro just buy $50 dollar window motors on ebay and install them, its easy the hardest part is drilling the rivet holes and thats not even hard;we all know manual windows are a hassle-check it.

Is there a link to where I can find the write-up for the power window voltage mod that FAILED DEVICES mentioned?

Basically your window motor is not receiving enough voltage the way it is setup from the factory. You can custom setup a relay and new wiring (should be a writeup on LS1tech) or you can buy a kit: AutoTrix :: Passenger Window Fix Kit
