Default ATS Socket ?

Ahoy, I'm fresh back to Camaros with a 95 LT1 Automatic.
Under the dash there is the OBD socket above accelerator pedal.
To te left a couple of inches is another socket base, single row 6 pins that has ATS name on it.
Nothing in the hand book and nothing comes up via Googler.
Any clues amongst the experts on this forum ?

95 did not come with an LS1 so if there is one in there then there is no manual and no ones knows what is going on except the guy that built it. Since your wiring in your 1995 pre dates OBD2 then its all been swapped. 1998 was the first year for the LS1 in a Camaro The first LS1 was in a corvette 1997.

On a side note, GM likes to have a single wiring harness for each model. so your harness will have connectors that are not used and tucked away. If nothing is broke don't fix it. A lot of times you can look inside the connector and see dirt that shows the connector has not been plugged in since new.. If your car has been LS swapped I would expect a lot of connectors not going anywhere since the 98 OBD2 computer was networked to all the sub systems your 95 would not have.

Thanks Gorn. I just got the motor designation upside down. It's the LT1 for sure.
I will add snaps of socket on original post soon, maybe that might help. picture worth a thousand words etc.

That is not a GM socket. My guess would be it is an aftermarket security system or remote starter. As the car ages these do tend to be problem. If you can you should have it removed.

Gorn is the winner. My mechanic identified it as said security system.
It has been disabled but they didn't remove the socket for some silly reason.
Thanks for helping.
Car's i having AC pump changed out right now.
