Default Alarm question

I live in Florida and if anyone has lived here or visited here you know we have some ridiculious storms here. Since I got the car, when ever we have a storm (rain, lightning, thunder, wind, etc.) my alarm would go off even when lightning isn't close. One day though we had a real nasty storm while I was at work and the alarm went off and I like usual I shut it off and then re-armed it. About five seconds later the alarm went off and since then the same thing happens. I can't lock the car by the keyless entry or by the electric door locks. I have to manually lock the car. Not that I am lazy but I would like an alarm since car theft is kind of common here. Does anyone know whats going on or how I can fix it? Let me know if you need more info and I will try and provide it. Also don't use the "M" word (mechanic), I absolutely hate letting someone else touch my car.

It you have an aftermarket alarm, get rid of it, the car comes with VATS, and besides, no one pays any attention to them when they go off.

My Car Alarm goes off during storms. In the trunk on the passanger side take off the plastice with the speaker in it and turn down the
Sensitivity of the alarm if you have factory alarm.

So I do in fact have a stock alarm system and I tried to adjust the sensitivity but it didn't matter the sensor must be fried. The alarm just kept going off so I removed the sensor and it is the problem so I am going to try and get one either at a junkyard, ebay, or a dealership. Thanks for the help.
