I guess the only thing I can say is buy 2. If you have this issue in the future, at least you have one to spare. Beats having to go through all of this trouble again. Owning a classic is not easy.

Oh heck ya! I'll buy 2 if I can for sure. Especially as it seems it I'm only going to find used parts. While I think the greater good approach is buy only what you need so others can fix their car - making more cars available- longer. In this case its quite extreme - and rare - and so an exception is certainly gonna be made

Curious? How is this problem playing out?

Hey thanks for the followup - Sorry for my delay!

I didn't get a chance to call hawks again this week (time zone since I am on the west coast, and work is busy) , but found another possible source in Edmonton, Alberta (Canada) that might have something. Company is called David T's https://www.davidt.com/ They specialize in all Things Camaro/ Firebird.

I called them and they are searching inventory for me as they too know its a rare part. I did not hear back from them Saturday so I will call on Monday see if there was any luck. Since I was able to talk to someone there too - I'll see if they know anything about interoperability with the 98-02 version of the sensor (if they are OOS on both too!)

Stay tuned!

HI all - so David T's did not carry them at this time either since they are so rare, he also mentioned there are significant changes in the 98-02 cars, namely that rear brakes went to disk so sensors could indeed be different. Again - not buying 150 dollar used paperweights. Likely best I keep looking for my 93-97 options. Road trip starts in 3 days so if anyone watching knows someplace in the northern states I might find one let me know.

93-97 V6 Drums Standard on Rear. Just like a limited slip rear, the disks could have been ordered on the V6.
93-97 V8 (Z28) Disks Standard on rear.

Not saying the sensor is the same but might be worth looking at. Even if the ohms are off a little it should still send a wave signal. I watch I guy on youtube that used a pickup out of a distributer and the broken screw drive tip. I can not remember the video but it was the sloppy mechanic. on one of his budget builds.

You are always better off starting a new thread. I do not come here everyday and even when I do come I do not check private messages. Due to may work I can go days without being on the internet.
