Default '97Z Factory Radio Question

I have a '97 30th Anniversary Z28 with the factory single CD head unit. I see there is an Aux option on the button for the CD player but no input on the face. Is there a way to wire in an audio input on the rear connector? It would be nice to have an audio jack for my Ipod/Sirius instead of the RF transmitter.

There's an input on the back but not for an audio jack. It's a weird plug that you can connect a 10 disc player to it. If you have a tape deck your best to buy a cassette with the audio jack in it. Or find a fm tuner you could use.

So the "AUX" button is only for a CD changer? It has the factory in dash CD player. I have an RF transmitter. Guess I will wire up a power point for it. Are both the cigarette lighter and power point supposed to be hot with the ignition off? Mine are and it's a pain turning the Sirius off when I park.

Yes they are. You can always rewire them to be power only when you turn your key.
