Sez what??? If you remove power to the radio it won't work anymore until you punch in the proper code.

It depends if the Previous owner has programmed the "Theftlock" Feature into the Radio. I have removed and installed mine multiple times without any problems.

So if it's been programed you'll need the Radio code, if not, you should be fine.

I have the same problem with the 97 I bought. I did not have a battery in it and I put a new one in but can't get the radio to work. Guess the PO had the Theftlock turned on!

I guess we put on a good sounding exhaust and just guide and ride, listening to the afterburners! I don't even have a manual to tell me how to put it in the code for the theftlock. Maybe I look in my sons 96 manual, it might have something in there. I will check and see, if it is only a few numbers, I guess we could just figure out the statistics and go through every number until we hit the jackpot!

o boy, that`ll take a millenium or two, i think the password can be up to 4 digits according to my manual. if not think maybe the dealer could have something to master reset it?
