hi i was wondering if this was a good offer and does it just sound like minor work needs to be to this car or leave it. help please dont want to miss out on a steal the car is for 700 obo 95 z28 camaro z28 auto 350 lt1 ttops (dont leak)
needs headlights, hood, windsheild and tires
motor runs but has intermittant knock
trans shifts good
$700 cash take its or i'm stripping it down and junking it

 

700 sounds really good to me, spartan66 was just looking for a LT1 engine, and some guy sold a wrecked car with a high mileage engine for 2500.

even if it takes to much money to make it run, you could prolly part it out for more than 700. but deffently offer like 450 or 500. get it cheaper if you can.

 

what are some of the questions i should askto know im not getting a bunch of junk

 

For $700 if it is all there I would take it

so a hood runs about $500 (not painted)
umm windshields vary... headlkights.. ehh $80?
tires... $600...

so about

+/- $1800 total plus the windshield/paint and checking on the engine..

hell thats not too bad, if you can work on it, start out with a lower offer though like $400-$500...



since when i had my 1995 auto Z28 it cost me $6,000 and the tranny sucked...

 

You said the engine has a knock? WARNING!! That could mean a spun bearing or a broken pushrod, valve. $700 sounds good but it sounds like you might have to tear into the engine. Plus you'll save yourself a ton of $$$ if you can do all the work yourself.

 

Ya, the engine shouldn't be knocking. It shouldn't be predetonation because the computer moniters that and pulls timing to reduce it. That being said the knock sensor or knock module could be messing up and allowing the engine to knock (which isn't good for it, but it'd be an easy fix), if it's something with engine internals you're going to have to get us more info...Go for it >$700 good for the motor even if it needs work...

 

ok now he tell me that it has to be towed cause the tires are flat but it still runs and drives towing a car 27 miles is gonna be pricy but i really want it

 

Even with an engine knock $700 for a complete LT1 car that runs and drives is agood deal. Who knows maybe it's even an easy fix....

 

just make sure you have the money to get into it.
