Ask what they are doing the heads. Is it just a resurface or a valve job aswell. Nothing against mobile mechanics but be wary of them. I know far too many people who gave them money for them to just run away with it. I also personally know some that I would trust with my car instead of dealerships. 1200 isn't too bad considering a 4th gen isn't really a easy car to do any work on. FYI machines shop charge bout 80-150 for a resurface and bout 300-500 for a valve job including a resurface. Have you thought bout aftermarket heads or p&p while they are out? Sounds like a great excuse to me.

yeah i trust the mobile dude cause he know his stuff (20 years on working with cars ) the dude at the shop is the one i dont feel i can trust i had him fix one of my other maros and he did a okay job just cost too much for my blood lol hahah if you feel me the mobile mechanic said he will be taking the part to the machine shop to be fixed pay half and the other half when the job is done i haven't put in fluids in the car just got it on the 1st of June i was thinking if i had a list of the parts needed i can just buy them and just pay for the labor what yall think?

We need more info like what kind of mileage and how long you drove it with a blown headgasket but you will need the headgasket set and fluids for sure. Sometimes its cheaper if you have the machine shop buy them for you with their commercial discount. As far as the heads being good and not cracked you can never tell without removing them. My camaro had a cracked head and it wasn't even overheated. I just took it off to get a bolt removed. Like a said a resurface and valve job are two completely different repairs so consider that with the price.
