Smile Window snag update

Good news! Tried window on the way to work this morning and hey presto - it worked like it never had had a problem!
No idea why it works now or why it packed in, but what the hell, its fixed - yipee! At least I hadn't got down to taking the door apart!! Maybe it was the cold jamming the motor or upsetting the thermal link? Maybe we'll never know until it happens again (hope not).
Thanx for all of your advice and inputs. Here's to the next problem!
Cheers.

My window motor hasn't quit yet, but it did snap off the guide that fits into the track (I had to weld it back in for a quick fix...).
hey in that same thought, my drivers window keeps poppin out of the track. it look like it had been rewelded to the window frame but if you close the door with the window half down it pops right back out of the track. how do i fix that? is that plastic track slide something i can replace? winow works fine while in track.

Hello everyone,

I just joined the Camaro forum today. I was searching the web for info on window motor replacement and found this forum. Judging by the responses given to Phil_UK, there seems to be a wealth of knowledge among the members here.

Here is my situation.
I bought a 1995 Camaro a week ago. 3.4L v6 5-speed manual. Great shape 105k miles.
The drivers side window has been slow going up since I got it last week, and occasionally it would stop on the Auto-down process.

This hasn't been a big deal, as they still worked, but yesterday, while rolling the window up, it stopped. I released the stitch and pressed it again, and it didn't move, and some smoke came out of the door. I pressed the down button, and it rolled down.
I tried up again, and it began rolling up, and then stopped again and a little smoke out again. I was able to get the window up by getting out of the car and physically pulling the window up as I pressed the button.

Here is my question, could it be the motor, or the regulator, or both?

Your thoughts and replys are greatly appreciated.
