Default 95 camaro engine swap question

I would like to know what the largest LS series motor i can fit in my 95 camaro is, its a base 5 speed, currently the 207 CID 3.4 v6. wondering if i can fit the ls2, also switching to 6 speed no matter what, but curious what the largest i could fit into it is, looking to race it so i need the most hp possible. thanks.

Also i have been around cars all my life and i do know a great deal, just need a opinion on this from people who may have done something like this before.

if your feeling couragous and you have 10+ grand laying around you can get a LS7.. possibly even S/C'd. There may be some fabrication here and there... i dont see why an LS2 wouldnt fit...

You're going to have a lot of work cut out for you. If you have yoru hear set on an LSX motor and you have the money, the sky is the limit as far as "size" that you can fit. Since the LSX series have a completely different block from what your car has, or even the LT1 that your car would have come with, you're going to hvae to do some custom fabrication to get the motor to even mount correctly. Remember, along with the motor, you're going to have to make sure you have all right sensors and computer pieces to go along with it, as well as everything you need to make take the car from OBDI to OBDII. Have fun, in my opinion you'd be better off purchasing a car that already has a V8 in it and going from there.

No problem. The only reason i say go with an LT1 is because a LS1 car in reasonable shape is upwards to like 10 grand.. im talking respectable mileage, clean car etc. Buying the LT1 will save you money down the road for stroking, charging w/e. Part of the reason i got one instead of financing a WS6... which i kick myself for not doing because i have perfect credit and my mom just recently said she would have been my co-signer.. but thats another story. Keep us updated on your project, god knows ill probably be doing what your going to do soon enough.
