So i replaced the the coil wire but now see arcing all around the coil pack. these are the symtoms. Rough idle, whiteish smoke coming from exhaust-smells really rich(gas), a knocking sound from engine after i have adjusted rocker arms 2wice and sealed the header flanges, and a rough acceleration when slowly giving it gas(kinda a jerky feeling). I read another forum and they were saying the EXACT same thing that i am going through, but never really came to a conculion. ANY IDEAS??

 

Ok guys, still needing alittle help with this one. Read another thread and they descrided my issue to a "T" but didn't really come to a conculion. Symtoms: whitish smoke from exhaust, really rich gasy smell, rough idle, a knocking/ticking sound from engine, and a jerky feeling when slowly pressing the gas for acceleration. I replaced the coil wire and do not see arc there but have arc all around the coil pack. Also have adjusted rocker arms 2wice and sealed the header flanges incase of eshaust leak. Any Ideas?? Is it just a bad coil pack? Will it make the engine knock?

 

sounds like its having problems grounding or a bad coil.

 

^^ what crabby said...I had a coil go bad before, not that common but entirely possible.

 

well, replaced the coil and still no luck. i don't see how my exhaust can smell that rich and smoke with stock injectors. i did run a small 12 gauge ground wire from coil bolt to frame also but still the same. any other ideas? i haven't replaced wires yet, just the coil wire. the wires i have are Taylor 8mm now.
