4th Gen. Oil Gizzards tuff 2 get to but...YourMechanic are u kiddin w/ ur oil leak fix price?
There's an online mechanic service which middles you out to local mechanics
My friend owned a 1990s model BMW and a qualified brick and mortar storefront Mechanic charged him $450 to seal his oil leak
I have an oil leak on my 93 which synfast oil changed quoted at $180
Later this eve., was told by my dennis wilson from 2 lane blacktop backyard or freelance mechanic that this his what he was charged by his friend who owned the BMW and the oil pan was hard to get to
*My friend said the Labor and Lifting and trying to squeeze to get to the oil pan, gasket and apply silicon on any american car especiallly a 4th gen. 93 is super difficult and hence my car would ALSO average $400+ to fix the oil leak.
You may note that my oil leak isn't super bad, yet.
Any Ideas Please anyone on an average cost or a range $180 to $275 seems reasonable to me (a price range which I feel includes labor)
what has to be done are 3 things per Synfast Oil Change
1) Replace Old Motor Oil Gasket
2) Install New Oil Gasket
3) Apply Silicone
Now mind you, per my backyard mechanic's late night phone call, a Camaro's Motor-Oil Area locaton is very hard to get to just like that BMW which had an oil leak and cost $450 to fix since it was real tough to get to.
Here's Your Mechanic's quote (I am assuming it is so since they are a middle man and get a cut or a finder's fee), but would you trust this company? (by the way, how can you negotiate $25 off with these people? It's rhetorical---you can't, they're inflexible and probably the local mechanic changes each time so u can't establish a relationship with them) They claim to hook you up with ASE cert. techs, at least that's 1 of the 1st places on google search you find "YourMechanic" and a company has to pay Extra to Appear as 1 of the 1st few on any Google search engine. *Please go ahead and put your thoughts on this. Thanks.

seems about right though your jumping around a lot the pan gasket is a lot of labor to get the engine lifted enough to get your pan out an put in a new gasket ,sounds about right , an actaully not to bad, someone talking about anything but replaceing the gasket is full of it ,you better off try the stop leak stuff they have ,if there car is worth it do it right

Thanks a lot. Hopefully, I can do this tomorrow morning at the Transm. shop which is multi-talented I want to spend assets I have on having this car street-legal and healthy which may involve 2-3 hefty pricey jobs that I simply dont have time to do this on my own. Google has no answer on these questions. Everywhere is closed & I thank you a millionfold for that, may Karma return to you and bless you, too. Monday monring at the crack of dawn I will be at the multipurpose competent Transmssion shop before funds are inappropriately "attached" / seized by my ex-spouse who again thankfully did not have children with her. thanks again.
