Default 4th Gen Fluid Capacities

I figure these will help others out. I pulled them from the Electronic Parts Catalog from work.

Fourth Gen Fluid Capacities*

93 Base 3.4L V6 and 4L60 (700R4) Transmission

Air Cond. Refrigerant: 3.50 lbs, Type R12
ATF: Pan only: 5 quarts, Type ATF Dexron IIE (Superseded by Dexron III and Dexron VI, either is usable)
ATF: Overhaul: 8.35 quarts, Type ATF Dexron IIE (See above ^)
Manual Transmission Fluid: 2.95 quarts, Type ATF Dexron IIE (Superseded by Dexron III only)
Brake Fluid: Top off, Type Dot 3 or 4
Differential Fluid: 1.75 quarts, Type SAE 80W-90
Engine Coolant w/ Automatic: 12.30 quarts, GM Spec: 1825-M (Universal 50/50 will work)
Engine Coolant w/ Standard: 12.50 quarts, GM Spec: 1825-M (Universal 50/50 will work)
Engine oil w/ Filter: 4.0 quarts, Type SAE 5W-30 or 10W-30
Fuel tank: 15.5 Gallons
Power Steering Fluid: Top off, Type GM Hydraulic Power Steering Fluid
Windshield Washer Fluid: Top off, Type Any

1993 Camaro Z/28, LT1
Air Cond. Refrigerant: 3.50 lbs, Type R-12
ATF: Pan only: 5 quarts, ATF Dexron IIE (Superseded by Dexron III and Dexron VI, either is usable)
ATF: Overhaul: 11.2 quarts, ATF Dexron IIE (See above ^)
Manual Transmission Fluid: 4 quarts, ATF Dexron IIE (Superseded by Dexron III only)
Brake Fluid: Top off, Type Dot 3 or 4
Differential Fluid: 1.75 quarts, Type 80W-90**
Engine Coolant w/ Automatic: 15.10 quarts
Engine Coolant w/ Standard: 15.30 quarts
Engine Oil w/ Filter: 4.5 quarts, Type 5W-30 or 10W-30
Fuel Tank: 15.5 Gallons
Power Steering Fluid: Top off, Type GM Hydraulic Power Steering Fluid
Washer Fluid: Top off, Type Any

1994-1997 V6 and V8 model capacities stay the same with the exception of these:

94-99 A/C refrigerant changes to 2lbs and Type R-134a
94-97 V6 Transmission Overhaul changes to 8.8 quarts
94-97 V8 Transmission Overhaul changes to 10.8 quarts
97 V8 oil changes to 5 quarts

1998 Base Model (and RS) 3.8L V6, 4L60E transmission

A/C Refrigerant: 2lbs, Type R-134a
ATF: Pan only: 5 quarts, Type ATF Dexron VI
ATF: Overhaul: 8.8 quarts, Type ATF Dexron VI
Manual Transmission: 3.4 quarts, Type ATF Dexron III
Brake Fluid: Top off, Type Dot 3 or 4
Differential Fluid: 1.75 quarts, Type SAE 80W-90**
Engine Coolant w/ Automatic: 12.3 quarts, Type 50/50 Dex-cool (or equivalent)
Engine Coolant w/ Standard: 12.5 quarts, Type 50/50 Dex-cool (or equivalent)
Engine oil w/ filter: 4.5 quarts, Type SAE 5W-30 or 10W-30
Fuel tank: 15.5 gallons
Power steering fluid: Top off, Type GM hydraulic Power steering fluid
Windshield wash fluid: Top off, Type Any

ATF: Pan only: 5 quarts, Type ATF Dexron VI
ATF: Overhaul: 10.8 quarts, Type ATF Dexron VI
Manual Transmission: 4 quarts, Type ATF Dexron III
Brake fluid: Top off, Type Dot 3 or 4
Differential fluid: 1.75 quarts, Type SAE 80W-90**
Engine coolant w/ Automatic: 15.1 quarts, 50/50 Dex-cool (or equivalent)
Engine coolant w/ Standard: 15.3 quarts, 50/50 Dex-cool (or equivalent)
Engine oil w/ filter: 5.5 quarts, Type SAE 5W-30 or 10W-30
Fuel tank: 15.5 gallons
Power steering fluid: Top off, Type GM hydraulic power steering fluid
Windshield washer fluid: Top off, Type Any

Changes between 98-02

A/C refrigerant for '99-02 is 1.48 lbs
Engine Coolant w/ Automatic for '99-02 11.8 quarts
Engine Coolant w/ Standard for '99-02 11.9 quarts
Fuel tank for '99-02 is 16.8 gallons
Power steering fluid for '99-02 is 1 pint

*All capacities are based from Advance Auto Parts EPC and remember to always double check with the owners manual.

**For differential fluid in Z/28, SS, and Y87 packaged cars, remember to add a LS additive along with the fluid, however, some fluids such has Lucas state that it is not required. Some have gotten away with not using it (me personally) and others have had noise because of it.

for some reason it was not stuck craby, i fixed it though. great info!!
