Default 408 start up :)

So its been some time and its not the best video but here she is.

YouTube - LQ9 408 243/251 cam 112LSA Start Up

GM LQ9 Iron block
4.035 bore x 4.00 stroke
11.6 to 1 CR
243/251 112 LSA cam
And very very poor 241 heads.

Still needs some good tunning and better heads.

Not that much money on this one. The LQ9 blocks are cheap 250-600 bucks depending on if you want new or used. The 241 heads have a very crappy hand port job on them with stock valves so you can pick a set up for 200 bucks. The valve springs are the only real upgrade to them at just under 200. You could build the bottom end including the cam for 3500 bucks or less. This combo made 450 at the wheels with a very poor tune on the rich side so with a good set of heads it should make right around 500 give or take a few horses. I am not sure if i want to run L92 heads with a LS3 intake or just spend the money on a set of PRC heads and then save up for a FAST 90.

I would spend the money on the LS3 top end. There's a guy close to me who will sell me an LS3 intake with ported LS3 heads for $1300. The FAST intake alone will cost almost $1000. LOL yeah, you need some new pants.

Thats a hell of a deal when you think about it. The L92 heads flow just about as good as aftermarket heads when ported and out flow ported LS6 heads when stock. The LS3 manifold is also a big improvement over the LS6 manifold so thats a big plus as well. For 1300 bucks thats a hell of a deal.

Yeah, the only draw back is I got an LS1. Once I get a LQ9 or LQ4 block, I'm jumping on that deal as soon as I can.

Got a deal on ported and milled LS3's with LS3 intake for 1K over on tech . Going for 500 NA and hoping to brake into the 10s on motor. After that we will turn on the bottle and see how she does
