Default 2002 z sometimes will not turn over

Hi all,
I have a 2002 z28, i replaced the starter last year. Recently, when starting, it will make a short click, then nothing. If i shut the ignition off and retry it, it turns over fine. Battery is fine and fully charged. This has happened about 5 or 6 times over the past few weeks.

Does that sound like a bad spot on the starter? Or something within the ignition?

Any suggestions?

Thanks for any input!

could be solonoid is going. before replacing or testing starter try cleaning the connections at the battery, both the cable ends and the battery terminals. wire brush em good. also check the connections at the starter, maybe worked lose or corroded. there is also another place that could be looked at, the power junction box on the passenger side fender well by the battery. red plastic box, take the wires off and wire brush the heck outa them. also a ground junction there you could have a look at.
