ok, i guess it has been said. honestly spartan, i havent heard the info you give from any other member prior ie. checking o2 sensor voltage with an oscilloscope. It seems to me that its stuff you pick up in ur highschool auto tech class ur always talking about. There is nothing wrong with these classes, they are a good place to build a foundation. However, ask most mechanics, repair tech is very different than performance tech. also, im not even sure you need a high school diploma to each high school [>:]at least thats what it seemed like when I was there

You can do it with a wave form scope, or a digital oscilloscope. Even then, you'd have to know what you were looking at, and be able to able to tell the difference in the waves when the sensor went from lean and rich. You'd almost have to have a known good one, in order to compare to find the bad one.

This is almost too much work. If it throws an o2 code, replace the damn thing and see if it fixes the problem. But I'll guarantee you this much. Your current engine problem is NOT caused by a bad o2 sensor. At the very most, the computer will default to safe mode, and it will run rich. Not develop a rod knock, and shake violently.
