well you can as scream salvation said because thats what i did with my car the guy said the water pump and transmission mount were bad, i got a quote from a few shops even though i knew i was doing the work myself told him you want 3500 they told me this much to fix it and told him that is what i was willing to pay and we ended up settling on 2500. but its like mentioned above it is a used car and you always find those extra things that need fixing, just like i had to do a pressure regulator and a starter. but its all you man maybe you want to have a fun project car.

Just in my experience it is best to play hard ball so you don't get ripped off. A project car is just that, a project. If you don't get that one, a better one comes along. You know it's gonna take money and time, atleast try and get a good price so you have more money for her.

VERY IMPORTANT!!! Get a ggod look under the car to see if there is no damage to the frame. Easy to damage the unibody frames with even mild impacts. If you see anything that bent, kinked, twisted or if you're not sure then I say don't get it.

if u got patience then go for it, but ull spend the same amount as money as buying a good one for 4k or 5k
