Default 1994 camaro z28

Ok I was looking at my shifter and I am sure there is a way around not being able to put it in 1st gear. I am hoping there is someone out there that can help me out. I dont like not being able to pull it down into 1st gear. I have heard that the camaros with no 1st have the 262 gears good old hwy ones hehe. I am going to be sending car in to have that changed but I am sure with help I can fix the other problem. any help would be great thanks to all..... Mike.

The shifter will not go in first, but the transmission always starts in first, regardless of which forward gear you select. 94s built without the performance option have the 1st gear position locked out. But there is a stop pin that can be removed to allow the selector to go in 1st gear position. This is the same insane reasoning that GM used to put a second gear start button only on 6 cyl cars, and the OBDI computer with a OBDII connector. Remove center console cover and remove blocking plate
