Default timing on an 89 iroc z

Recently this past few months I picked up a nice 89 iroc z. 305, TPI, 5 speed. Now, it was butchered a bit by the previous owner. (Horrible exhaust work, rearend was blown to hell and replaced with one from another car with drum brakes (ugh) but at least it's still posi.

Either way, great starter place and in much better shape than my z28.

Anyways. I'm trying to do the timing... and I'm looking for the bypass wire. I've followed schematics and looked for a tan wire with black stripes like it mentions. I cannot see it. Not much room to see in there with all the items in a tpi setup.

Any chance someone can direct me to it, or even better snag a photo of where I should be looking? I know what I'm supposed to see I'm just not seeing it. :P

Thanks!

Bez

It will be up by the passenger side strut tower. Sitting right next to the a/c lines. Look in the wire loom there and you should find it pretty easily.

Aha. Thanks Draggo. I'm using alldata and it showed it back further behind the engine on the passenger side, but I couldn't find it. Was looking in the wrong place.

Thanks again!
