swapping to carbeurated this week
Asked and not answered. If you're not unlocking your torque converter before trying to put the trans in passing gear with your right foot, then don't expect it to downshift. Those factory operations are related (lock up only in 4th, and downshift only after it unlocks) so that the lock up clutch inside the t.c. doesn't get cooked.
Have you checked to make sure the TV cable is getting pulled out all the way at wide open throttle?
yes ive even set it to pull all way out just a ****hair before wot too with no sucess.
my tv cable is pretty frayed i want to replace it but cannot reach any wrench onto the bolt theres not enough room.
i was told to cut an acess hole under carpet then rtv and bolt a piece of sheetmetal over it. not 100% fond of cutting holes where they shouldnt be

Take out the drive shaft and torque arm and lower down the tranny enough to access it. Shouldn't take more than 15 minutes and is a hell of a lot better than cutting random holes.
