hey all im new to these forums and i just love them, i have an 84 z28 that originally had a 305 in it but before i got it there was an (i think)older 350 put in it, the guy used the original 4 barrell quadrajet from the 305 but put in a new edelbrock performer intake on it, and it was running kind of crappy, so i bought a brand new edelbrock performer 600cfm carb for it and it seems to run fine

but i havent gotten the air line to the th350 tranny hooked up yet to the carb because the line was too short, and now the couple times i have started it there has been a whistling, suction sound, i couldnt feel any air coming from the carb while running, and that is the only thing i didnt hook up, unless i did something wrong, im not sure,

you could get a can of starting fluid and spray short spurts around the carb and engine area to find the source of the lead, and congrats on getting rid of that Quadra-junk. I am putting the same carb on my camaro. are you happy with the performance?
