motor choking out
havin some trouble with my z28.... its a 5.7 TPI, but in to get it to start i have to hold the gas in, otherwise it just cranks. once its starts, if i let off the throttle, it chokes out... once i get it running, and drive it maybe 1/4 mile, it stays running then, but its only idling at 500rpm.. if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know... thanks!

RE: motor choking out
maybe on of your vacume lines came off look around and see if any thing is disconected, another thing it could be is your PVC pressure control vavle which i think is located on the vavle cover it could either be it is pluged or disconected,it should rattle when you shake it it dosent then replace it. it could also be that your fuel filter is plug. hope this helps if not let me know.

RE: motor choking out
umm, it could be the IAC (idle air control)valve on the throttle body, coolant passes through it, so if you just start it and its cold the iac could be hanging up or is cold or malfunctiong or something...try the same routine but disconnect it and see if id does the same junk...
