Exclamation '87 Constantly Choking or simply not starting

I have a 1987 T-Top V8 5.0

It has been choking constantly when I try to start. That is, if it starts. It will either start and immediately choke out, OR it will simply grind like it is trying to start and will not. I just got a brand new battery and it's alternator is less than a year old. I'm using this vehicle to travel to and from school twice a week, almost an hour drive, and I need to be able to rely on it to get me back and forth. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?
