cooling problems for an 87 irockz
i have recently purchased this car from a nieghbor, it was traded to him. he claims to not know much about the condition of the car only that it has overheating problems. the heater core was bypassed from the radiator staight to the tuned port injection. after looking at it i realized that it needed a short tube between the throttle body and manifold. the thermostat was lower temp. than stock and had a hole drilled in it i replaced it with the stock 195 degree temp. thermostat.
so now the water flows out of the manifold to the front of the throttle body then out the side and to the radiator. Is that correct?
Chiltons Manual doesn't show that hose. also the electric fans were not coming on. i tested the fans by bypassing the relays, they work. so i checked the coolant temp. fan switch on the passenger's side above the knock sensor it was melted from a exaust manifold leak, i fixed. i replaced the switch/sensor but i could not find the connector. the harness has two wires coming out of the bundle one black and one white . the white one goes down to the knock sensor with the same type connector as the temp. switch above it. according to the auto parts ( NAPA) the black wire is cut off two inches from the temp. switch. is this black wire the one i need to connect my new connector to? If so, should i test the black wire for 5 volts from the computer. what should i do?

the car is IROC-Z28....Not irockz
The coolant line from the heater control valve to right side of the throttle body and exits the left side to the intake manifold coolant outlet.

do u know what color the wire is that connects to the coolant temp. fan switch on the passenger side under the exhaust manifold? On my car the tuned port injection throttle body has the fitting for the coolant coming out the front is there anything in between or is it just a curved hose into the manifold?
Never worked with that wire you describe. Unless the previous owner tried the coolant thottlle body by pass, there should only be the hose to the manifold. As simple as I can make it. hose to rightside of thottle body and hose out on the left to the manifold. Like I said they might of tried the by pass.
****! Maybe this is why I had such a tough time finding the correct decals..........
