Default 97 z28 cooling and tranny problems

97 z28 cools fine while driving but slow down or stop and temp jumps real high and if i drive it for 30 minutes or more it starts boiling in the system after i park it and it runs out of reservoir. new water pump, radiator, and t-stat.

also my computer is sending a trans. solenoid code i replaced both solenoids had computer cleared and it shifted fine. turned it off and on 4 or 5 times that day got in next day and the first start SES light came back on and it was back to no 1st gear or 4th. Had code cleared and it shifted fine again. any suggestions on either plz! need help

if you just changed water pump,t-stat and radiator you probably didnt bleed all the air out of it.sometimes you'll have to do it a few times to get it all out.cant help with the trans

Did you flush out the engine and heater core when changing the radiator? Any chance that a head gasket might be leaking exhaust pressure into your system?

are the fans coming on? u should have two coolant temp sensors one for the gauge and one for the computer. the one on the water pump is the one for the computer.

Default fans, air bleed

Yea my fans are wired to come on when car is started and run at all times. and i bled the air out of the bleeders till the fluid ran constant, so i dont think any air was left in the system unless there is more to bleeding it than that. Im not sure if the head gasket is leaking or not because exhaust doesnt smoke any color and doesnt smell sweet like i've heard it would. it also runs and idles smooth with no misses. Could the tranny problem be the PCM just mailfunctioning during cold starts or is that not likely?

Thank you for any advice you may give.

i wonder if the tranny is operating hot and its making the sytem run hot. other than that i would look to something being plugged up. always double or tripple bleed the system and when bleeding park the car on an incline with the front of the car up.

Default bleeding

Ok il try that. what do you think could be plugged up to cause the overheating. itl run at perfect temp. till i pull up to a light or traffic and it climbs fairly quickly over 210. when i drive off it goes back down when i park it the coolant waits about 3 or 4 minutes before it starts to boil into reservoir and out of the reservoir cap.
Thanks
