Default cooling fan problems

I have a 92 rs with a 350 engine. I recently upgraded the cam and added double timing chain. My radiator cooling fan motor keeps going out. The copper wires in the fan motor literally turned black. What is causing this problem????

When electric motor windings turn dark, it s a sign of overload/overheating. The heat is cooking the "varnish" insulation on the wires. Make sure the airflow is from radiator front to back. Reversed wires can reverse the airflow and cause overloading. Also make sure the airway is unobstructed in the front of the radiator and the back of the fan.
