best tranny for under 500 HP

Many people have told me that a 350 turbo is a better tranny but i have done some research and i have come to the conclusion that the 700r4 is better for cars pushing under 500 HP. any opinions

go with the 700r4 its the same thing as the turbo 350 except for the overdrive

Agreed, as long as by "under 500 HP" you mean between 300-350 h.p.

stock, the 700r4 is good up to 350. throw in a valve body upgrade for better shifts, a larger servo, and a better cooler, and it should handle 450 for a while
