Are you having running problems with the 650? Even that one is plenty big for the little 305. A 700 is too much carb.

What kind of carb do you have, and which damn pin? Are you talking about the idle screws? Missing the spring perhaps?

its the idle screw screw it all the way out and see if it has a spring on it if it doesnt got to the parts store and get a spring that will fix it

i have a 1992 rs with the 305/ i swapped from a tbi to carb. a 600 holley is plenty of carb for it. a 650 is going to supply too much fuel unless you jet it down and start tuning the carb.
