its the newbie again and i was askin how much it would hurt the car or cost to run with the a/c compressor seized up. the pulley part doesn't spin at times and it makes a low pitch grinding noise. i know it isn't good but how could it hurt the car and what would a new compressor run around. thanks

 

Why dont you just get rid of the AC. Do you really use it? It cant be good for the car to run like that just cut that one belt until you can find a replacement. Free up some horsepower.

 

my grocery getter ( 92 RS ) the a/c compressor has been grinding for the better part of a year now. still will freeze you out though. as long as it isn't locked up ... run it til the tires fall off. 8-)Sick
