I put new starter, battery, distributor cap and car wont turn over. When I turn the key the volt meter on the dash drops and interior lights dim. I beleive its getting gas but Im thinking something is not sparking right dont know if you can help would appreciate.

"Won't turn over" means the engine doesn't crank, move, or budge when you turn the key. Is that what you meant? Could be anything from bad battery connections, a ground issue, or the engine is locked up. If it isn't turning over, try it by hand to make sure nothing is seized. What kind of symptoms, if any, were you getting before you started replacing parts?

on my 86 i had the same problem and didnt know what the problem was after talking with a gm tech he told me that if the battery ends were not tight enough the spark from the battery would not jump to the cable so make sure they are tight
