I wanted to know if anyone ever solved this problem? I have a 91 z28 with the exact problem. Got the car for $100 was sitting in a field for 10 years. the car is in perfect shape inside and out. guy said it ran fine when they parked it. well sort of fine. wouldnt get over 30 MPH and they couldnt figure out y. Tank and Pump was shot when I got it so I replaced them both. other then that Not a spot of rust Under the car. before trying to start it I Replaced cap, roter, wires and plugs. sprayed a little pennatratting oil in Cilinders just for safty seeing it had not been turned over in 10 years. with Starting fluid it started up and ran real nice. But that is it. so what was the answer to your Problem above?

Awhile back my 91 Camaro is running. After changing several things it ended up being all in the Distributior. There was one peice that was causing it......

Don't remember what it was called, but check your distributor and make sure your car is getting Fire.

do u have injectors? if so get a noid light and see if they are getting a signal to send fuel. also check the fuses in the engine compartment and in the cab. should be one or two for the injectors or tb injector. if u are tb injected then the tb could be pluged up with laqer. im thinkin u already changed the fuel filter.

Noid light no. I did test one or 2 with a meter Just to make sure I had Pulse on one side and Power on the other. I live 4 hours away from where the Car is stored right now. I was there this weekend and did a new ECM so now everything in the distributer is New other then the distributer its self. Next time I go up there i am taking a Fule pressure guage and a Noid light for more testing

Been there done that. No change. also if the TPS is screwed up and tells the computer it is at full throttle the Injectors will shut off. That is to help clean out a
fluded Fuel injected engion. Floor it the Injectors will not enguage and it SHOULD burn off the extra gas.
