Default I'm thinking about buying a Camaro. A little help?

Hey guys, I'm looking into buying my first Camaro. I really love the 3rd gen body style, and I'm looking at a 90 and 92 model right now. I have a couple of questions, though.

Are there any problems common among these models? Are they expensive to upkeep or unreliable in any way?

I'm mostly looking at the 305 v8, but what are some of the pros and cons of choosing this engine over the v6?

What sort of gas mileage could I expect from the 305 if my driving is roughly 70% highway or more?

How many miles is to many, so that I shouldn't consider that particular car anymore?

Thanks a lot for any help.

My "normal" car is a 91 RS 305. Common problems? Not really much different from any other car. Only issue is if the fuel pump ever goes out, it's a p.i.t.a. to change.
Pros and cons of v6 vs v8? Get the v8 and you shouldn't have any cons, rest of the car is the same.
I recently took mine on a long road trip, averaging 70-75 mph and got 26 mpg...not too shabby for a big-ish v8 car!

The overall mileage issue depends on how well it was taken care of. I was fortunate enough to buy one (had 116k miles) from the original owner who was a real car nut too.

...It's practically in perfect condition with over 120k on the clock now.

...And buying a used car is a crap shoot no matter how many miles are on it.

If you can find a 305 or a 350 the difference in gas mileage is so small that it doesn't even matter- I get around 21, 22 combined mpg, so it ought to be around there if it's running properly.

How expensive or hard is it to fix that problem?

anything in the gas tank of a 3rd gen is a pain
