Default Another throttle valve ?

So I intruduced myself in the new member forum. I recently purchased a 1990 RS Iroc clone. 305 700r4 auto. When I first got it it shifted so hard I thought it was going to break something. I adjusted the throttle vavle cable per instructions. Then it hah the same problem alot have complained about. A mushey or weak 2-3 upshift. So I maually pulled the adjuster just a little further out and test drove it till the shifts became close to what I thought they should be. I know this isn't the way it's supposed to work, so I'm wondering if this is a cable problem or indications of a bigger problem within the trany. I read here that the corvett servo will help this problem but not sure if it's enough in my case. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

you want it as tight as you can so it may be it was slipping a tad to far. does the throttle and butterfly open all the way?

In addition to opening the TB linkage all the way for setting the TV cable, with the other hand, you want to simultaneously pull the TV cable forward grabbing where it attaches to the arm.
