Default starting problems with my 89 rs with 5.7 tpi swap

ok so i had just done this 5.7 tpi swap in my 89 rs, after installing the engine, wiring harness, and computer and hooking everything up, the car wont start, i tested the old starter and it was bad and was replaced but still cannot get the car to turn over by key, i think im running into a problem with the VATS PASSKEY system, the key does not have the chip in it, i beleave it had fell out when when the v6 was in it it would still turn over.(only when the v6 was in), the security light does not come on at all, so im getting clueless on this problem.
Thanks!!

The earlier models are a little easy to work with but the newer ones suck!!! So the original key had a pellet resister (chip) in it that fell out?? you can always go to a gm dealer with your vin, title and registration and have a new key made. Bring that stuff with it makes it way easier. Without that pellet (chip) in the key you really have no way to find out the resistance of it. Start there.
