Default New member, New project, 88 IROC

Have read posts for days and decided to join. I have a 88 IROC that is my new time and money vaccum. I've said I want to build a car that scares me to drive or at least can pull the front wheels up. Right now I'm stripping everything out that doesn't make it go faster or stop. Long way to go but this is the start of something. I hope to find help from others and post what I run into as I go.

Looking for any beginners help there is. Rear ends, TBI or carb, intakes, cams, trans, and everything else out there. On a project like this should I strip out all the wiring and start from scratch or leave what is there alone? I'd like to be street legal with all the lights and signals but don't need the A/C, heater and other creature comforts.

Default scare the S out of you???

the cheapest and simplest way to get insane is a bone stock 5.3, then force 10+ lbs of turbo boost to it. there is a guy locally here pushing 16lbs, putting 550hp on the ground - however the motors don't last long, but defiantly CRAZZZZY for a while
