Default 92 RS transmission swap

I just "finished" my first project car. She's a 92 RS. It wasn't a full restoration more of a face lift for the old girl. Now that I've got the motor running decently and a fresh coat of paint I've been debating on the next step. I'm not really looking to add more speed or anything like that to the car right now but I would like to make the experience more pleasurable. It has the stock auto transmission in it and I was wondering about possibly doing a tranny swap for a five speed. I'm semi new to the mechanic world and not sure on the availability, price and difficulty that is associated with that sort of project. Is it something worth doing or should I just save money to build the motor and scrap the idea? Any recommendations on a transmission for the car?

You only option is a T5 from a 3rd gen V8. Your best bet would be to find a doner car and sell what is left. With all the part you would need it may be cheaper. If you can find someone parting out a car it could be a good deal. Search around I am sure you can find a swap thread.
