Can incorrectly timing the engine cause my transmission to burn up 500 miles later?




Can I use a transmission from a 88 2.8v6 to replace my 91 3.1v6 transmission?

What torque Converter do I buy? 88 2.8v6 or 91 3.1v6?

I dont think that the timming would cause the trans to burn up, It would run very crappy. Something had to let go in the trans.
